About Read to Thrive’s Tutor
Marcia is a retired special education teacher (K–12) and reading practitioner with a decade of experience helping children unlock the joy of reading.
Disturbed by the national literacy crisis—nearly 40% of students struggle to read—she set out to create something different. Marcia developed a revolutionary, common-sense, structured, and flexible phonics system based on the Science of Reading, cognitive research, and her classroom experience.
Her passion is to see every child, regardless of background or learning needs, experience real success. Marcia’s students don’t just improve—they thrive. Parents describe her approach as “a breath of fresh air” that brings hope, excitement, and lasting change to their children’s learning journey.
