General Questions
FAQ
Why is a strong reading foundation essential?
By prioritizing your child’s reading development, you are addressing a current need and laying a solid foundation for their future success. With a strong reading foundation, you are setting them up to thrive in the long run, reassuring them about their future.
Unfortunately, insecurities get covered up with avoidance and negative coping behaviors, and emotional and behavioral problems become increasingly complex with time. Without the fundamentals of learning to be a successful student, your child will experience significant learning uncertainty and a higher chance of failure.
What age groups does Marcia support?
Marcia works with children in Kindergarten – 4th grade. Typically ages 5-9.
Is online learning available?
Until students become self-regulated, independent, and accountable learners, in-person tutoring is crucial in establishing a solid learning foundation on which they build their future. Online learning lacks this structure and the tutor’s ability to redirect, not knowing the cause of distractions.
Hands-on learning is essential for young students, especially those with processing challenges. With Read to Thrive’s Learning-to-Read System, students fully engage with highly interactive lessons for the entire session, reducing dependence on technology and greatly influencing emotional and behavioral development.
What Is the Time Commitment Required?
Collaborative teamwork with parents is another reason for Read to Thrive’s high success rate. Involved parents or guardians play a crucial role in reinforcing learning, helping it become automatic, preventing learning loss, continuing with confidence, and accelerating progress. By working together, the child is assured, anchored, and bound for success as the process becomes natural. Most importantly, it is an energizing experience for both, keeping everyone excited and motivated!
Read to Thrive provides a sense of security, ensuring that the time and effort invested are worth the results, thereby securing your child’s educational future.
Will Read to Thrive's Learning-to-Read System help prepare for the Ohio tests?

How Does Read to Thrive's Learning-to-Read System Help My Child in The Classroom?
Read to Thrive’s Learning-to-Read System is like the foundation of a tall building. It is cemented in the cognitive, academic, emotional, behavioral, and social-collaborative learning fundamentals essential for classroom success. As a result, students become grounded, naturally ignore classroom distractions, complete quality work, and participate meaningfully.
What if my child does not want to be tutored?
Not all students are initially open to structure, repetition, and direction, especially in today’s culture. However, like most, your child has the potential to adapt. Your child does not have to like being tutored; however, cooperation is critical for success. We strive to make the learning experience as engaging and enjoyable as possible, and children are often pleasantly surprised to discover that their experiences are entirely different from what they expected.
